Children's Ministry Pastor
Mark Sawinski, Pastor of Children’s Ministries
In the beginning I was born in Saginaw, Michigan. We moved from there when I was only one year old so the memories are a little fuzzy. My growing up years were spent in Wyoming, Michigan, where I attended elementary school, and Comstock Park, Michigan, from 6th grade until I graduated from Comstock Park High School. I was raised in a nominally religious home but not a Christian home. After high school I worked for Clark Equipment Company in Grand Rapids, and it was there that a man introduced me to the gospel of Christ. I began to attend a Bible church just down the street from my home so I could grow in my new found faith. After a couple of years I sensed a need to go deeper into the Word so I applied and was accepted at Grand Rapids School of the Bible and Music (currently Cornerstone University). As God continued to direct my life, I had a desire to attend seminary, but first I needed to finish my degree. I completed my studies at Grace Bible College in Wyoming, Michigan. The final educational stop was Dallas Theological Seminary.
I have ministered as a Minister of Christian Education in Cadillac, Michigan. A Pastor of Children and Adults in Brookfield, Connecticut, and, a pastor (the one and only) at a small church in Grand Haven, Michigan. Most recently, I served as the Elementary Education Coordinator at Central Wesleyan Church in Holland, Michigan.
Debra and I met at the Bible church I attended soon after I was saved. We were married in August of 1981. Our three children are all teens. Christopher, Bruce, and Laura. The boys were born in Texas, while Laura was born in Michigan.
